Six Demonic Dances is a character study in mischief. While technically challenging the real opportunity for the performer is to fully develop the characters of each movement. Each dance has a specific pace or groove that should be established and maintained. Each movement, when performed, should visualize for the audience some gremlin or gargoyle dancing and convey idiosyncratic details about the creatures. It is not important what those particular details are, just that the performer is specific. It may be helpful to think about body weight. For example, the character of movement Two is surely trim, but movement Five cannot be. The performer should think about scaly skin, claws, or horns, imagining which characters might have bat-like wings or webbed toes.
